Here is a very easy way to raise money for Shorecrest. Goodsearch.com will donate a penny to Shorecrest every time their search engine is used. All you have to do is go to www.goodsearch.com and write Shorecrest Preparatory School in the box asking for the charity name before you conduct your search. Those pennies will add up quickly!

The money collected will go to the Shorecrest Parent Association to help fund Parent Grade Level Socials, refreshments for Back-to-School Nights and Poetry in the Park, Middle Division Cookie Days, Faculty Lunch Days, the Spring Luncheon and all of the other activities that SPA helps put on or organize.
Please see the Parents Page of the website for additional school information.

More than 400 people turn out for "FUN" raiserEveryone felt like a "high roller" last Friday night at Shorecrest's much anticipated Viva Las Vegas Auction & Casino Night. More than 400 guests let it ride at the gaming tables, savored a delicious array of food from the area's top restaurants, danced to familiar Brat-Pack classics, anted up at the live and silent auctions and mingled with members of the Shorecrest family. Heralded one of the "social events of the year," Viva Las Vegas helped to raise funds for technological enhancements for the students, professional development activities for the faculty, and new car seats for the Early Childhood buses. |
Message from Mike MurphyWhat a Week
The seniors and sixth graders went off on their separate class trips. Friendships, memories and new dreams are forged on these adventures. I tip my hat and give a hearty round of applause to the faculty sponsors of these experiences. At the same time, the Big Event: Viva Las Vegas rolled into the Coliseum. Co-chairs Melinda Pletcher and Laura Horwitz and their Team of Viva Divas provided our parent community with a fabulous party. Their efforts also raised money for SPA and Shorecrest. Bravo! Leading Today, Building for Tomorrow, our capital campaign, crossed the $6 million dollar mark. Two significant gifts from Shorecrest alumni kicked-off the planned efforts to reach out to graduates and their parents. Re-enrollment contracts poured into our admissions office. Faculty and staff evaluations were underway in preparation for the distribution of contracts for the coming year. Report cards were written for some divisions. Curriculum and program planning for the coming years continues. The new Digital Citizenship Task Force had its initial meeting. Board Committees addressed financial and construction projects. Athletic teams practiced and competed. The cast for the spring musical, "Fiddler on the Roof," continued rehearsals. Early Childhood had a wonderful Pet Parade. The Youth and Government Team took over Tallahassee and passed five of the twelve bills presented to the youth government. It was a week of highs and lows. We saw the depth of passion that our teachers, parents and students have for each other. We observed adults and children supporting each other in both the best and worst of situations. We observed the spiritual side of our community that unites us with each other and greater mankind. I pray for a boring week. Cheers! Three Cheers for...

How are you supporting this year's Relay For Life?

Dr. Peters offered many great tips for helping your child to be organized in school, including study strategies and a daily report card system. After the lecture, she answered questions from parents and then signed books that were for sale.
